In preparation of master Ko Baek-yong’s upcoming visit to Finland in May of this year, instructor Klaas Barends from the Dutch Hankido Federation visited Finland for a weekend filled with hankido and hankumdo training.

HKD Winter Seminar
For those who aren’t afraid of a bit of cold and snow we offer the possibility to participate in the HKD Winter Seminar in Lohja, Finland. The seminar will span three days from February 5 until 7. Instructor Klaas Barends from the Netherlands will be teaching both Hankido and Hankumdo.

Today we had only two training sessions, but that only means we also had a lot of time to talk with the instructors of the Finnish Hankido Federation about the future of Hankido in Finland.

During our morning training session a reporter from the local newspaper visited us for an interview and some pictures. People in Lohja are working hard to promote hankido. Later we visited Helsinki for some sightseeing and a training session at the local school.

Our second day in Finland started with a morning training at 8:30. Quite a few enthusiasts showed up and we practice circle and flow techniques together. In the afternoon we practiced hankumdo at a local school.
