In the past decades we have hosted several successful training camps in South-Korea. These seminars are for dedicated martial arts enthusiasts who are coming to Korea to train multiple times a day. Although there is some time for sightseeing, most time will be spent on the mat.
Since summers in Korea can be very hot, we have decided to once again host a Spring Seminar in 2017. This two-week event will take place from Monday, April 24 until Friday, May 5. Participants who are interested can join us on a weekend trip to Jeju island from May 5 until May 7.
It is possible to add one extra week of training after the seminar.
During the day there will typically be four training sessions.
7 – 8 AM
Early morning training in the park. We start the day with stretching. During these trainings, you will learn breathing and visualisation exercises (hwansangdobeop).
10 – 12 AM
Hankido self-defence training with master Ko Baek-yong. Learn Hankido directly from the founder’s foremost student and now leading hankido master in the world.
4 – 6 PM
In the afternoon we typically teach self-defence (hapkido), sword (hankumdo) or sangmu forms (hyeong).
8 – 10 PM
Guest instructors will teach you their speciality. Topics can be; self-defence, sparring, kicking, weapons, grappling, etc. etc.
Sword cutting
In the second week, we will organise a trip to a begi-jang (sword cutting place) where you can practice your sword cutting skills with a real sword on bamboo.
In our gym there is room for ten people who prefer to sleep in the gym. You will sleep on the floor and the gym has no air conditioning. We will provide you with mats, blankets and pillows.
In the area around the gym, there are several good motels where you can stay for a reasonable price. You will have a comfortable bed, shower, TV and air conditioning in the room. The motel offers free wifi as well. You will share the room with one other participant.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the gym. Breakfast is typically Western style, lunch and dinner are Korean.
During the weekends you can explore Korea on your own. The gym is close to two subway stations. It takes you about an hour to go to downtown Seoul.
Our gym is also close to the Incheon Bus Terminal. From there highway buses can take you to just about any place in Korea at a reasonable price.
After two weeks of intensive training you can join us on a weekend trip to Jeju island. We will fly to Jeju from Gimpo airport on Friday afternoon and return Sunday in the evening. On Jeju you can rest and relax at the beach, surf, climb a volcano, enjoy good quality seafood and recharge your battery before you return home.
We offer several packages. The price does NOT include your ticket to Korea.
