Klaas Barends, 6th dan and international instructor of our federation, will visit Brazil March 2020. Klaas accepted an invitation from masters Luiz Miele en Claudio Fauza to teach hankido and introduce the World Hankimuye Federation.
Klaas and Luiz met in Korea back in 2000 when they were both staying in master Ko Baek-yong’s dojang to develop their hankido skills. In 2015 Klaas also visited Brazil and taught to members of Cheonhak.
People who are interested in learning hankido as taught by the World Hankimuye Federation are welcome to join the seminar that Klaas will teach on March 21 and 22 in Sao Paolo.

Klaas started his hapkido training in 1987 at the age of 13. In 1989 he attended a seminar with hankido founder Myung Jae-nam and master Ko Baek-yong in the Netherlands. From that moment on the style gradually changed from hapkido to hankido. In 1997 Klaas traveled to Korea for the first time to train under master Ko Baek-yong. Many more training trips to Korea followed. In 2004 and 2005 Klaas lived in Korea and trained 24/7 under the guidance of master Ko Baek-yong. From 2008 on Klaas started teaching seminars at an international level. Klaas has taught seminars in Finland, Greece, Germany, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Thailand and the United States. In the Netherlands Klaas runs his own school, Chongmukwan, together with his dedicated students.
